OnePlus has officially unveiled its highly anticipated mid-range smartphone for 2023, the OnePlus Nord 3, following months of leaks. This new handset comes with a range of upgrades compared to its predecessor, the Nord 2T, including a larger and improved display, a more powerful chipset, and a bigger battery.

The OnePlus Nord 3 now boasts a 6.74-inch display, a significant increase from the 6.43-inch screen of the previous model, placing it in a completely different size category. The new OLED panel supports a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ content. Notably, the screen features a higher resolution of 1240 x 2772 pixels.
In addition to its impressive display features, the Nord 3 also offers an ultra-fast 1000Hz touch response rate, 10-bit color depth, and Dolby Atmos-tuned stereo speakers, providing users with a complete multimedia experience.
Under the hood, OnePlus has introduced the new MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset, replacing the previous Dimensity 1300. This upgraded silicon promises a substantial boost in performance and efficiency. The smartphone is available in two configurations: 8GB of RAM with 128GB of internal storage, or 16GB of RAM with 256GB of internal storage.
While the camera hardware remains unchanged, the Nord 3 features a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary sensor with a 1/1.56″ size and 1.0µm pixel pitch, paired with an optically-stabilized lens with an f/1.9 aperture. The device also includes an 8MP ultrawide sensor with an f/2.3 aperture and a 120-degree field of view, along with a 2MP macro camera. The front-facing camera has been upgraded to a 16MP sensor.
Powering the OnePlus Nord 3 is a substantial 5,000mAh battery, a notable increase from its predecessor’s 4,500mAh capacity. The device also supports 80W fast charging, and OnePlus assures users of good battery health even after four years of daily charging.
On the software side, the phone ships with Android 13 out of the box, based on OnePlus’ OxygenOS 13. OnePlus pledges to provide three years of software updates, guaranteeing three major Android OS updates for the Nord 3.

In terms of design, the Nord 3 showcases a new, sleeker look with flat edges and a flat glass back panel. The device is IP54-certified, offering protection against splashes and dust, and it features OnePlus’ iconic alert slider on the side.
The OnePlus Nord 3 will be available in two color options: Misty Green and Tempest Gray. The starting price for the 8GB/128GB configuration is set at €499, while the 16GB/256GB variant is priced €50 higher. However, OnePlus is offering an early bird discount on the latter until July 31, making it available for €499.
