How to enable Dark Mode on Google Maps (for iPhone or iPad)

It finally happened! Google added a Dark Mode iOS version of the Google Maps. Here’s how it works.

So, if you have an iPhone with a OLED screen you know by know that white is bad and dark is good for your batter and also your eyes.

Of all the possible apps, Google Maps is one of the last ones to add a dark mode, on iPhone at list.

And even when added, it won’t work out of the box. You’ll have to enable it your self.

Here’s how to enable Dark Mode for Google Maps on your iPhone or iPad

  • Tap your profile pic on the right hand side of the search bar in Google Maps;
  • Now tap Settings in that menu;
  • Go to Dark Mode and pick On.

Alternatively, you can opt for the “Same as device setting”. This will follow your system settings and put Google Maps in Dark Mode of normal mode depending on what you choose in iOS Settings.
