This is Galaxy Z Flip, the second attempt at a foldable smartphone from Samsung. But is it worth the money?
After the fiasco with Galaxy Fold from last year, Samsung asks to trust them with their second try, promising they did it better and cheaper this time.
Let’s see.
The folding of Z Flip
First of all, Galaxy Z Flip works different that Galaxy Fold. It’s more like a flip phone from a few years back. Hence the name.
Bu this time there is no need for a hinge because the screen learned to fold.
Galaxy Z Flip technical specs

But wait, there’s more. Another screen on the outside. This one is just 1,1″ and can show notifications.
There’s a Snapdragon 855+ chipset, which was the most powerful chipset last year. It comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.
Oh, there is no 5G.

Galaxy Z Flip, worth or not?
So, for €1,500 you get a 2019 almost flagship that can flip. The camera won’t be impresive and most probably the autonomy will disappoint you.
But let’s face it. It look cool and it will sure turn a lot of heads.
So, the answer depends on what’s importat for you. A good smartphone with a reasonable price or your vanity.
We just hope that the folding mecanism or the screen of the €1,500 Galaxy Z Flip won’t break too fast. We still think it’s a bit early to trust this technology that clearly is the future.
