Here’s how to customize Firefox interface, by hiding / showing the bookmarks bar.

The bookmarks bar of any browser is that bar that keeps your favorite web sites at a click distance. But, if you don’t use it it’s just a waste of screen space.

In Firefox, there are a few ways to show / hide the bookmarks bar. I’ll just cover the simpler ones.

Method 1: Click on any free space in the main bar, to show the contextual menu. Mouse over the Bookmarks Toolbar and choose one of three obvious options.

Method 2 : If you’re keyboard shortcuts kind of guy, this one is faster. Just press CTRL+SHIFT+B simultaneously to show or hide the Bookmarks bar.

Hiding the bookmarks bar frees space for the actual websites you visit.
